ABOUT DEVIN
Devin Banda seems destined for the spotlight. This 22 year old mexican american artist has strong roots in Tejano Music, as she shadowed her mom, whom she claims is her hero (a Tejano Radio DJ) a very young age. She was emersed in the music, attending festivals, huge events and surrounded by some of the most legendary tejano perfomers, It was at the tender age of four when Devin was watching Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia perform and she joined him on stage. Four year old Devin grabbed the mic and sang the lyrics and wowed the audience. Since then she has been unstoppable.
Devin’s aspirations led her perform with an Austin based band as a back up singer which included performances at the National Tejano Music Convention and TTMA Fan Fair in San Antonio. She auditioned for American Idol and became the runner up in the Austin Tejano Music Coalitions Tejano Idol competition, all which helped set her sights on a solo career! Since then Devin has performed and recored with some Tejano Music’s Best including multi Austin Music Award Winner Rapper Trampia Guzman , grammy winners La Mafia, Ruben Ramos, and icons Tierra Tejan and Shelly Lares.
Not too long after that she started recording. Her official debut single “Yo Te Dije” a Tejano spin on Randy Travis classic “I told you so”, which enlisted a dream team of Tejano greats to produce including powerhouse production team of grammy award winners Mario Ortiz and J. R. Gomes (Kumbia All -Starz) gained attention and critical acclaim. Her next single “Si Pudiera Regresar” also produced by Mario Ortiz gained major airplay on all Tejano Radio Stations. She co wrote and released her first crossover hit, a Christmas song called “Marry Me Christmas” which won airtime on crossover top 40 stations. in 2015 Devin performed at the prestigious Tejano Music Awards. All of this led up to her release of her debut album “UNSTOPPABLE” - the title was fitting and telling. She has been unstoppable and the album has been a huge success. Another single from “UNSTOPPABLE” includes “Tu Me Fasincas” which is now nominated for Song of the Year at the Houston Music Awards . She is also nominated for Best New Female Artist at the Houston Music Awards this year.
It doesnt’ stop there. Devin’s ambition led her to audition for the Fox Smash TV show called the FOUR, where she met casting director Laura jane. Laura Jane has worked with the likes of Enrique Iglesias, Joe Cocker, Aerosmith, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, The Black Eyed Peas, Lea Michelle , Katharine McPhee and Dave Matthews Band just to name a few. Laura Jane, Devin and her mom became friends and started working together. As a result Laura Jane enlisted latin grammy winners Manuel “Papayo” Corao and Leonardo Brooks of Cuban Hip Hop Superstar, Pitbull’s camp and label, and songwriter Jacin Nagao (Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin to write a produce a new bilingual crossover tune. By the end of the session Devin walked out with a new smash hit called Un Poquito Mas. Un Poquito Mas took radio by storm and and has gotten airplay all over the country in Mexico. Devin followed up with performances at SXSW, TTMA Fan Fair in San Antonio and Univision.
With setting her sights higher, Devin is expanding and working with more producers and creating a new sound. Just like it says- DEVIN BANDA is unstoppable! You will see much much more of her in the coming years….

Devin banda está destinada a estar en la mira. Esta artista Mexicana/Americana de 22 años tiene fuertes raíces en la Música Texana. Ha seguido en los pasos de su madre (una locutora de la radio texana) a quién ella proclama como su héroe. Desde muy joven, Devin estaba inmersa en la música y fué a festivales y grandes eventos rodeada por algunos de los más legendarios intérpretes del género texano. Pero fué a la edad de 4 años cuando Devin estaba observando a Ricardo Castillon y La Diferencia cantando, cuando ella se les unió en el escenario. Devin agarro el micrófono, comenzó a cantar y cautivo a toda la audiencia. Desde entonces ella ha sido imparable.
Las aspiraciones de Devin la llevaron a presentarse con una banda que comenzó en Austin participando como segunda voz. También realizó actuaciones en la Convención Nacional de la Música Texana y en el TTMA Fan Fair en San Antonio. Devin también audicionó para American Idol y se convirtió en la subcampeona de la Musica Texana de Austin en un concurso nacional, llamado "Texano Idol". Desde entonces Devin se ha presentado y grabado con algunos de los mejores de la música texana, incluyendo al ganador de múltiples premios del Austin Music Awards el rapero Trampia Guzman,y los ganadores del Grammy Latino La Mafia, Ruben Ramos, y con los iconos de Tierra Texana y Shelly Lares.
No mucho tiempo despues, Devin comenzó a grabar el tema oficial de su debut "Yo te Dije" un cover del clásico "I Told You So" de Randy Travis. Cantó con un grupo increíble de el género texano, grandiosos en la producción, incluyendo al extraordinario equipo de producción del ganador del premio Grammy Mario Ortiz y J.R. Gomez de Los Kumbia All Starz y obtuvo la atención y el aplauso de la critica . Su siguiente sencillo fué "Si Pudiera Regresar" también producido por Mario Ortiz, quien también produjo uno de los grandes éxitos de todas las estaciones de radio Texanas. Ella también fué co-autora y publicó su primer crossover que fue una canción de navidad llamada "Marry Me Christmas" que fue el crossover mas tocado en 102.5 Kiss FM. En 2015 Devin se presentó en los prestigiosos Premios de la Música Texana. Todo esto la impulso a la realización de su album debut "Unstoppable" , cabe mencionar que el titulo le quedaba a la perfección. Devin ha sido imparable y su album a sido un gran exito. Otro sencillo de el album "Unstoppable" es "Tú me Fascinas" el cual ahora esta nominado para canción del año en los Premios de la Música de Houston. Ella también esta nominada en la categoría de mejor artista femenina del año.
Todo esto no para aquí. Las ganas se sobresalir de Devin la llevaron a una audición para Fox TV de un show llamado "The Four", donde conoció a la directora de casting Laura Jane. Laura ha trabajado con artistas de la talla de Enrique Iglesias, Joe Cocker, Aerosmith, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, Lea Michell, Katherine Mc Phee y Dave Mathews band, solo por mencionar algunos. Laura Jane, Devin y su mamá Yoli Romo se hicieron amigas y comenzaron a trabajar juntas. Como resultado, Laura Jane logro reunir el talento de el ganador de el Gramy Latino, Marel Papayo Corao y de Leonardo Brooks, la super estrella del hip hop cubano y también equipo de trabajo de Pitbull y al compositor Jadin Nagao (quién fue parte del equipo de trabajo de Enrique Iglesias y Ricky Martin), para escribir una canción crossover bilingue. Al final de la sesión, Devin salió con un nuevo éxito llamado "Un Poquito Más." "Un Poquito Más" ha tenido un gran éxito y también ha llegado a las radio difusoras mexicanas. Devin continuo con sus presentaciones en SXSW ,La Experiencia Mexico Americana, y TTMA Fan Fair en San Antonio y Univision. Fijando sus metas más altas, Devin continua expandiéndose y planea trabajar con varios productores para crear un nuevo sonido. Y al igual que el titulo de su album debut, Devin Banda continua siendo "IMPARABLE".
